2023 Village Blanc Traditional Method Brut

$23.50

For the 2023 vintage, we took our Martha’s Vineyard Pinot Blanc and added a touch of Muscat from the Mariani Vineyard to create a beautifully approachable sparkling wine for all occasions. The wee bit of muscat lends a delicate floral nose and the pinot blanc lends a taste melon and pear on the palate with a round soft marshmallow finish.  This wine is perfect for wet rainy day vibes. Cheers!

MARTHA’S VINEYARD - Zeller & Sons have been providing farm and winery equipment to the Naramata bench for decades. Martha Zeller is on in years but her son Dan keeps her small vineyard holding in good care. Located on the “hillside” (as opposed to the lake side) of Naramata Road, this vineyard site is in a state of transitioning to more organic practices and we’re delighted to work alongside Dan to encourage a different way of farming.

MARIANI VINEYARDS - We are delighted to work with Lorna Fraser and Phil Mariani to source organically farmed Gamay grapes on the lakeside of Naramata Road.  Inspired by their love of Beaujolais, Lorna and Phil decided to plant not one, but TWO, clones of Gamay on their three acre site: clone 787 (a unique varietal for BC) and clone 509 (the more well known varietal here).  With two clones being farmed identically on the same site this allows us to play with single clonal expressions for a better understanding of this sometimes overlooked grape. Go. Gamay. Go.

For a second planing, the Mariani’s decided to plant an additional acre comprised of Muscat and Cabernet Franc. With such loving stewardship shown with the Gamay clones, it should be no surprise that these additional varietals are also of exceptional quality.
